What is remote work?
Remote work also known as telecommuting, working from home, is any work environment where employees do not need to work in the same office. Remote work refers to work that is being done by individuals who are not in the same physical place but still work effectively and productively on the same projects (Savina,2020).
Types of remote teams
1. Fully remote teams
When a company does not have any central offices and everyone works from home or from office spaces; it is a fully remote team.
2. Distributed office hubs
When a company decides to create small offices in different cities from its head office, its workforce becomes “distributed.”

- Local ownership

3. Flexible remote teams
Employees are not fully remote or working from distributed hubs. But they are also not in the same location all the time.

Take a few moments at the beginning of each meeting to focus on personal stuff. It is crucial to build relationships and strengthen team collaboration.

Order coffee, tea or food for remote employees who are in meetings to help them feel included to the organization.

ReplyDeleteAs per the AAyat Alli 2017, in this hybrid work place employers are unable to see how their remote employees are interacting and connecting with their team members. My view is the biggest challenges of remote working is collaboration. With this hybrid work place it is hard working together and set processes to make choices that all members agrees.

Remote working is a mostly discussing topic in these days specially due to the pandemic. There are number of advantages & disadvantages as author described.
ReplyDeleteI feel that although some organization will be able to practice this concept, some organization such as apparel manufacturing will not be able to practice this concept.
However, since this is help to boost the moral of employees, effective implementation of the technique will be benefited to the organization.
